Mumbai: Cyclone Tauktae turns 'extremely severe', IMD issues orange alert


Gusty winds and rain slashed Mumbai and its neighboring areas overnight and on Monday. As the cyclone, Tauktae turned into a very severe cyclonic storm in view of the cyclone alert.

The operations at the cities Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj international airport were suspended from 11 am till 2 pm on Monday. Over 150 incidents of tree collapse were reported in Mumbai and suburban areas as a precautionary measure.
