Gautam Gambhir will hold free Covid vaccination camps.

The news comes just one day after the Delhi government's drug controller told the Delhi High Court that his charity had been found guilty of illegally keeping and dispensing Fabiflu to coronavirus sufferers.

Gautam Gambhir, a BJP MP, has announced a month-long campaign of free Covid vaccination camps for anyone over the age of 18.

The news comes just one day after the Delhi government's drug controller told the Delhi High Court that his charity had been found guilty of illegally stockpiling and dispensing Fabiflu to coronavirus sufferers.

The cricketer-turned-politician said in a tweet that the Gautam Gambhir Foundation (GGF) is organizing free vaccination sessions in collaboration with hospitals.

According to a Gambhir staffer, the MP from East Delhi will organize a month-long immunization program for persons over the age of 18. The goal is to immunize 10,000 people. “The Gautam Gambhir Foundation is buying vaccines from hospitals and giving them to everyone for free. Every day, between 150 and 200 people will get vaccinated. It will most likely begin next week,” he said.

“Every day we watch blame-game on television,” Gambhir stated. This is not what Delhi requires at this time. We must all work together to save lives. To get out of this situation, we have to put everything on the line,” he remarked.

“My staff and I, as well as the Gautam Gambhir Foundation, have been doing everything we can to help people who are in need. There have been demands for vaccines for days, and it was overwhelming to see so many people who couldn't afford it,” he said.

“We're partnering with a few hospitals to deliver vaccinations with proper protocols, and GGF will cover the expense. We want to make our Prime Minister's aim of universal immunization a reality, and we encourage all Delhi residents to obtain the vaccine. He stated, "This is the only road to a better, safer India."

The High Court had previously stated that while the BJP MP accomplished a lot of good, he also caused a drug shortage and inconvenience to society.

Gambhir's remark comes amid a severe vaccine shortage in Delhi, which has led the Arvind Kejriwal government to close vaccination centers for those aged 18 to 44.

The AAP has also criticized the BJP-led federal government for sabotaging the city's Covid vaccination campaign.

Gambhir had previously distributed Covid-related equipment such as oxygen cylinders, concentrators, and Fabiflu through his charity.

The High Court was hearing a petition seeking the filing of an FIR over allegations that politicians were able to obtain and distribute COVID-19 drugs in large quantities while patients were lining up to get them.

The drug controller further stated that immediate action will be taken against the foundation, drug dealers, and any additional cases brought to its attention.
